Earth hour. Tonight. Be there or be square.
I like Earth Hour for a couple reasons.
1. I think the fact that it raises awareness and that kids can really get a hands-on experience is awesome. No, it isn’t going to solve any of our planet’s problems. But it isn’t supposed to.
2. We enjoyed it so much last year that I’m looking forward to this year’s Earth Hour. It’s just one hour. No tv. No lights. No phone. Just us. Last year, we lit candles and played games and showed our kids that making a small effort is pretty easy.
So c’mon! Are you with me? At 8:30 tonight, turn off your lights and your tv and your computer, and enjoy one short hour of quiet. If you’re ready to start baby-stepping towards going green, this is an excellent way to do it. And if you think you’re a lovely shade of green already, then do this to reinforce your commitment to our planet.
