Kid Craft I

January 9, 2009

As promised, here’s our first installment of kid’s crafts. My son, A, is our resident artist and always looking for a new project. Last evening we combed through our “365 Days of Crafts” and found this idea. It is was meant to be an entire bowling pin set made from recycled 2-liter bottles. However, as a family who drinks more milk than soda-pop, we only had one bottle. We’ll make due.

We broke out the acrylic paints and dressed A in his finest creative garb and went to work. In case the picture does not accurately portray his efforts, let me warn you that paint does not adhere well to plastic bottles. I should also explain that a 5 year old’s attention span does not lend itself to second coats.

But, he was happy with his creation none-the-less and even knocked it down a few times with various sized balls. We had fun and it was a great way to spend the hours his older brother and sister were off at piano lessons.
